Learning to Overcome White Limitations

Although I am a core Blue personality, I scored almost just as much White on the Color Code assessment. This means that although I definitely feel like a Blue, I also greatly identify with the White personality. In some respects, this is great, because I can pinpoint the natural strengths I have from both the Blue and the White personalities. However, it also means I deal with natural limitations from both personalities, which makes it harder to become charactered since I have to learn to overcome my Blue and my White limitations. I’m definitely far from perfect when it comes to overcoming my White limitations, but I do have experience try

Five Things Whites Should Do Before They’re Thirty

Whites are wonderful. There is no denying that. They are kind, even-tempered, accepting, inventive and balanced, among other great qualities. Anyone who doesn’t have a healthy White in their life needs to drop what they’re doing and go seek a White friend. You’ll thank us later.

Of course, we could brag about Whites all day, but what good would it do if we only ever talked about the strengths of every color? Although it can be discouraging to hear about our limitations, it’s essential for character growth. Whites are timid, inexpressive and they avoid conflict. They can also be boring and uninvolved. It might sting a

Admiring and Learning From the White Personality

You know that moment when someone irks you and you snap back an angry retort, only to wish you could take it back seconds after you say it? A lot of us say things we regret frequently and maybe wish we could just learn to keep our mouths shut. For those who are nodding their head, let’s step out of our own lives for a minute and learn how to be more like the personality type who emulates qualities we so wish we had: The Whites. Whites are the peaceful, calm, kind people among us. And though they have limitations like the rest of us, they have really admirable strengths. In this article, we will explore some of those strengths so us Yellows

Do Personality Tests “Profile?”

As more and more companies are using personality tests as recruitment and management tools, the question arises, “Do these tests profile?” According to Merriam-Webster, the definition of profile includes, “…the extent to which an individual exhibits traits or abilities as determined by tests or ratings.” So, in the very strict sense of the word, the answer is yes. However, the way in which the question is asked often indicates that personality testing is negative and intrusive — a violation of our most personal self, and perhaps that is the issue that should be addressed. What Color Code profiles is a person’s innate persona

Parenting a White: Taking a Positive Approach To Their Limitations

If you are the parent of a child with a White personality, congratulations! White children are very simple and undemanding. They are willing to accommodate their siblings and their parents. They play well by themselves, they accept life without drama and they are peacekeepers. And of course, just like the other colors, children with White personalities have limitations. These limitations might drive you crazy! But since your child may not recognize how the

Marriage and the Color Code

I’m excited to share some thoughts with you about marriage and the Color Code. My wife, Tammy, and I will celebrate 39 years of marriage in July. Fifteen years ago, we almost lost our marriage. We were in trouble. My wife said, “I’m done!” Thankfully, we were invited to a “color meeting.” I was quite resistant. Feeling insecure and being dragged, I left lots of black heel marks going into that meeting in August of 2002. But I walked out of that meeting in awe, realizing my wife was a member of a very elite group of people, known as “The Blues.” I discovered there was a motive, a why, a reason she had served me, our daughte

Ask the Expert – Why Motive?

Let me tell you why the concept of MOTIVE will change your life. Here's a quick thought for you that I hope makes a lot of sense. Unless you've been a stranger to the Color Code system, or if perhaps you only know us casually because you took Color Code Profile out of curiosity (or something like that), you know that we are all about understanding people's MOTIVES. Motive is everything to the Color Code. It's our "secret sauce," if you will. (Psst - don't tell anybody I told you that!) ;) But it's true. That's what we are all about. For some people, the concept of Motive seems a little strange, because it's not what they a

Those of us who are familiar with the social media world have likely come across the term “Life Hack.” This phrase is typically accompanied by a helpful tip that may make one’s life easier. For example, using Coca Cola to clean a toilet. In our humble opinion, the Color Code is one of the better life hacks out there. :)  By understanding ourselves and others at the motive level, we can build better relationships, be better parents, be better employers and employees, and so on and so forth. Today, we will focus on a few life hacks for our friends with Peace as their Driving Core Motive--The White Personality. Whites have so many wonde
